The 61-year-old rocker was arrested from his home in Tauranga, New Zealand on Saturday, reported Stuff.Co.Nz.
"All I can say is he has been arrested and will be appearing in the Tauranga District Court...," said Rudd's lawyer Craig Tuck.
Police refused to comment on the nature of Rudd's arrest.
"(Phil Rudd's) lawyer has previously indicated to police that media attention is not helpful. We are not making any comment until court appearance," said Bay of Plenty Police district communications manager Kim Perks.
Rudd was sentenced in the Tauranga District Court and was warned he would go to prison if he breached the terms of his sentence.
The band dropped Rudd from their 2015 world tour due to his legal woes.
