Sajjad, who is currently on an India tour, was born in the Suraajganj area of the city.
"Wasim Sajjad will be in Jalandhar tomorrow to see the house where he was born, before leaving for Amritsar," said District Magistrate Varun Roojam.
The DM said Sajjad will be received by the administration as per the protocol.
Sajjad is in touch with Navtej Singh Toor, senior lawyer and former president of Punjab and Haryana Bar Association.
Sajjad's maternal grandfather, Sheikh Muhammad Sharif was a lawyer who had shifted to Pakistan after partition.
Sajjad was the acting President of Pakistan twice, in 1993 and in 1996-97.
