The incident took place when the two-- Vinod Kumar (48), a former gram pradhan, and his brother Promod Kumar (40) were on their way for a court hearing here.
The duo, riding on a bike, were shot by car-borne miscreants.
They were killed on the spot, police said adding, a search operation has been launched to nab the accused.
Police suspect old enmity behind the killings.
The deceased belonged to Kasampur village where security has been tightened and additional police personnel have been deployed, they said.
