Former mayor booked for smuggling rare animal species
Press Trust of India Faridabad A case has been lodged against a former mayor and his accomplice for allegedly being involved in smuggling of rare species of animals, police said today.
Acting on a complaint by a Delhi-based NGO, Surajkund police conducted a raid at farmhouse of former Mayor Devendra Bhadana located at Anangpur, police said.
Rare species of two turtles and one air gun was recovered from the farmhouse, they said, adding, further probe in the matter was on.
