While onlookers said that sexagenarian Kajal Dutta who has been associated as a senior trainer as a well as a lifesaver, was swimming in the pool this morning at around 8 am but he was not seen coming out of the water, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
Trainers and lifesavers at the swimming club tried searching Dutta in the waters after which a team from local Police station Ahmerst Street and Kolkata Police disaster management group initiated a search, he said.
"He has been a very good swimmer. We are not sure how come this mishap incident has happened today. We are shocked," a senior member of the swimming club said.
