Police today arrested four persons including two women for assaulting the security guards of Haryana Labour and Employment Minister Pandit Shiv Charan Lal Sharma.
According to a complaint filed by one of the security guards Shailesh Kumar, on Friday night one Rakesh parked his car in front of the minister's residence at Jawahar Colony, a police spokesman said.
When he was told not to park the car in front of the gate, Rakesh started abusing the guard, he said.
When the other guards, Qasim and Ramu, tried to stop him, Rakesh, who was in an inebriated condition, started abusing the minister also, and tried to enter his residence, he said.
Rakesh also tore Shailesh's uniform and started attacking him with his 'lathi'. He then called his wife, brother Pramod and Pramod's wife, and all of them attacked the guards.
The four then fled the scene threatening the guards that they will kill them, the spokesman said.
Police registered a case and arrested the four, he said.
