Today was the first day of filing nomination papers in the state, which has 26 Lok Sabha seats.
"BJP's Vinod Chavda from Kutch and RJD's Jagdish Patel from Banaskantha Lok Sabha constituency filed their nomination papers," Gujarat Chief Election Officer Anita Karwal said.
"Two independent candidates - Raj Prajapati from Gandhinagar and K Padmarajan from Vadodara - also filed nominations," Karwal said.
BJP has fielded party veteran L K Advani from Gandhinagar, while its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is contesting from Vadodara.
The last date of filing nomination forms is April 9, while scrutiny will take place the next day. The last date of withdrawal of nominations is April 12.
