Four persons were today injured when a mob attacked the family of a farmer to take forcible possession of his five canal agriculture land, police said.
"The 150-strong mob was alleging that the land being cultivated by Jagjit Singh and his family originally belonged to their ancestors," Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhjinder Singh Khera said, adding, the mob attacked Singh and his family
members.
A court verdict was in favour of Singh by which he was declared legitimate owner of the land, the SHO said.
He said the mob forcibly attempted to take over the agriculture land but fled away after police reached the spot.
