Four officers of Rural Development Department suspended

Four senior officers of the Rural Development Department were today put under suspension for using sub-standard material in the construction of various projects in Vijaypur block here.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan, today ordered suspension of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Assistant Engineer (AE), Junior Engineer (JE) and a Multipurpose Worker (MPW) of Rural Development Department, an official spokesman said here today.
He said the minister also ordered attachment of Block Development Officer (BDO) Vijaypur in the Directorate of Rural Development, Jammu.
"The action was taken after it was found that the officers had used sub-standard material in construction of various development projects undertaken by RDD in Vijaypur block" he said.

During his tour to Badhori area of the block, the minister asked for testing of samples of the materials used in construction of lanes and drains in Bari Mohalla, village Malkani and these were found to be of sub-standard quality.
"Following verification of the samples by testing laboratories, the minister today took action against the erring officers and engineers" he said.
