Four teenage students of two high schools in city drowned in Kali dam near here today where they had gone for swimming, police said.
The deceased included three students of class 9 and one student of class 8, according to a police official.
The students decided to visit the dam after they got early break from their schools in noon due to ongoing Board examinations, he said.
The official said the tragedy occurred apparently after the boys failed to gauge the depth of the water in the dam.
He said locals rushed to rescue the students after they raised an alarm, but couldn't save them.
The deceased are identified as Bhargav Godiya (15), Chirag Bangaria (15), Rainis Makwana (15), and Nikunj Jagdishbhai (14).
Further investigations are underway.
