The incident occurred at Wak village, 17 kilometers from Aalo, the district headquarters at noon yesterday, West Siang SP Mari Riba said in a statement today.
The incident reportedly took place when local contractors were clearing the tree branches near the road, of which one snapped the Aalo and Kamba transmission line, the SP said.
The deceased have been identified as Bomrik Ete (25), Kengam Ete (17), Libi Ete (15) and Kenyir Sora (17).
Post mortem was conducted at Aalo district hospital later in the evening and the bodies have been handed over to the relatives.
A case has been registered at Kamba police station, the SP added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today expressed shock and grief over the demise of four females, due to electrocution.
Immediately on getting the information from the district administration Tuki ordered a detailed enquiry into the incident
The chief minister also asked the chief secretary to obtain a detailed report from the West Siang deputy commissioner on the incident.
He cautioned officials and workers engaged in maintenance and construction of high voltage power lines to maintain extreme caution and keep the safety of common people as top most priority.
