Freight rate declines on excess position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section eased up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess position of trucks in markets amid restricted cargo movements.
Transporters said easy availability of trucks against less arrivals of cargoes mainly led to fall in freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Mysore, Kochi and Goa freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 65,000, Rs 72,000 and Rs 48,000, respectively.
Rates to Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Coimbatore too fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 28,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 26,000 and Rs 67,000.
