Freight rate slips on excess trucks availability

Freight rates for ten-tonne load slided by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following ample position of trucks amid thin cargo movements.
Transporters said heavy availability of trucks coupled with reduced cargo movements mainly pulled down freights.
Delhi to Chennai, Mysore and Goa rates went down by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 68,000, Rs 69,000 and Rs 54,000.
Rates to Guwahati, Mumbai, Patana and Baroda too dropped by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 53,000, Rs 29,000, Rs 28,000 and Rs 25,000.
