Freight rates rise on tight position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following pickup in cargo movements amid tight position of trucks.
Transporters said tight availability of trucks against increased cargo movements, mainly attributed rise in freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Patna, Surat, Kolkatta and Baroda rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 25,000, Rs 26,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs.24,000.
Rates to Indore and Kanpur also went up by Rs 1000 each to Rs.21,000 and Rs 19,000.
