Gadkari reviews highway projects in UP, Uttarakhand

The government today reviewed progress of highway projects in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and sought immediate solutions to remove bottlenecks delaying these assignments.
Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today reviewed the status of National Highway projects in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
"The various agencies involved in construction of national highways which have been delayed were taken to task. Various reasons for delay were identified and immediate solutions were sought," an official statement said.
The minister has sought remedial action so that further delays are avoided and new deadlines set.
Some of the delayed projects in UP include Moradabad to Bareilly, Ghaziabad to Aligarh, Bareilly to Sitapur, Raebareilly to Allahabad.
The two projects that have been delayed in Uttarakhand are Muzaffarnagar to Haridwar and Haridwar to Dehradun.
The minister also reviewed the projects which were on schedule -- Lucknow to Raebareilly, Agra to Aligarh, Kanpur to Kabrai, Raebareilly to Jaunpur, Bareilly to Sitarganj, Raebareily to Tanda, Raebareilly to Banda and Etawah to Chakeri , Kashipur to Sirtarganj, Sitarganj to Tanakpur, Sitarganj to Bareily.
The projects which are yet to be awarded were also reviewed -- Aligarh to Kanpur, Meerut to Bulandshahar, Lucknow to Sultanpur, Sultanpur to Varanasi, Ghaghara Bridge-Varanasi, Varanasi to Gorakhpur, Aligarh to Moradabad, Varanasi Bypass, Varanasi Bypass, Agra-Etawah Bypass, Chakeri (Kanpur) to Allahabad, Handia to Varanasi.
The projects which are yet to be awarded and are facing procedural delays in Uttarakhand were also reviewed.
They include Roorkee-Chhutmazlpur-Saharanpur-Yamunanagar Chhutmalpur-Ganeshpur, Haridwar-Nagina, Nagina-Kashipur and Rampur-Kathgodam.
