The 10 day Charthurthi festival began on August 20 and car festival was held last evening. People from all over india performed Ganapathy Homam at Pillayar Patti and offered worship to the deity.
A special giant size "Kozhukattai" (a sweet dumpling) was offered to the lord.
In Uchipillayar temple at Rock Fort in Tiruchirappalli also the chathurthi festival concluded today when thousands of devotees thronged the temple and offered worship.
Special poojas were held to Mukkurini Pillayar in Sri Meenakshi Amman temple in Madurai where people queued up to offer worship.
