Gang attacks merchant; decamps with Rs 4.7 lakh

A five-member gang attacked a merchant and robbed him of Rs.4.7 lakh near a police station here today.
Police said the Betel merchant Abdul Razzack had brought the cash with him for paying retail merchants when the gang assaulted him and snatched the bag containing the money.
A case has been registered, police said.
