Gang kills DMK functionary

A local functionary of DMK was kidnapped and stabbed to death by a gang at Ammapettai near here late last night, police sid today. , Rivalry within the party is suspected to be reason for the murder, police said.
Police said the body of the DMK functionary Manikandan was found on the Nagapattinam highway early this morning.
The five gang members, who had come in a vehicle knocked him, when he was talking to his friends and then kidnapped him in their car. Later they had stabbed him to death, police said.
Police said the vehicle had been identified.
Manikandan had been stabbed in 15 places.
Manikandan's friends made a futle attempt to chase the car.
