"Around 20 to 25 armed miscreants boarded the 18621 Patna-Hatia (Ranchi) Patliputra Express at Telwa Bazar and then stopped it by cutting its vaccum hose near pole number 340/20 before Lahaban station last night," Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Jamalpur, Arun Dubey said.
"They terrorised the passengers and looted cash, ornaments, gadgets like laptops, mobile phones and other valuables worth several lakhs of rupees at gunpoint. All the robbers were in their twenties," Dubey said.
Rail police from Bihar and Jharkhand reached the place of incident. Raids are being conducted to trace and nab the robbers.
