Two persons stated to be belonging to the same group were seriously injured in the exchange of fire from guns, revolvers, pistols, police said.
Two cars belonging to these groups were badly damaged.
According to an eyewitness account, both the groups are frequent visitors to the Sarabha Nagar mini market where they had an altercation today on some issue leading to sudden clash in which fire was freely exchanged.
Ludhiana DCP Harsh Bansal said, "The injured, identified as Kaka Grewal and Sarvi Koomkalan, have been admitted to the CMC Hospital. Police are raiding various premises to nab the culprits. It was a gang war.
