Gangrape attempt foiled, one nabbed

A man was nabbed by the locals here and handed over to the police for allegedly attempting to rape a maid, the police said.
Four men attempted to rape the 32-year-old maid when she was returning home after work last evening in the Pratap Vihar locality here, the police said.
On being resisted, the accused not only manhandled the woman but also tried to forcibly drag her into the fields, police added.
Locals gathered on hearing the cries of the woman and nabbed Yasin, while three others managed to flee. The accused was thrashed and later handed over to the police.

The woman has been sent for medical examination. Police has launched a manhunt for the other accused.
