Based on a tip-off, the accused, identified as Dharmabir, was nabbed from District Park in Dilshad Garden area in Anand Gram on November 4.
Dharmabir had fallen out with some of his gang members and in last few months had committed a series of shootouts.
In two such incidents, he had injured one of his former associate Kamaljeet and his brother Charanjeet, they said.
After falling out from Kamaljeet, Dharmabir was desperate to eliminate him and his brother.
Kamaljeet survived the attack and was admitted in GTB Hospital. Dharmabir then again planned to eliminate Kamaljit in the hospital itself and procured three lab coats to disguise as a doctor and kill him, police said.
The team of Special Cell got inputs that Dharambir has been hiding in Krishna Nagar area, in a rented accommodation to carry out his plan to murder Kamaljeet, which was foiled, as he was arrested, polic said.
