SP (City) Akash Tomar said that during a special campaign to arrest wanted criminals this morning, two persons riding a motorcycle were ordered to halt but they fired at the police personnel.
The police personnel fired in retaliation in which one of the bike-borne persons was shot in the leg and fell from the two-wheeler, the officer said, adding the other person fled.
During the encounter, a sub-inspector and a constable were also injured, he said.
The injured police personnel and the accused have been admitted to a hospital, the police said.
