To carry out development work in the district, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) today approved several projects worth about Rs 181 core in its 135 board meeting.
The projects include widening of Wajirabad Border-Bhopra Road, beautification of footpaths and city parks, signage boards on roads and repairing of damaged road dividers.
GDA also decided to develop city bus shelters on Private-Public-Partnership (PPP) model.
The authority board has decided to not increase its property rates till March 2014 as there are imbalance between circle rates and GDA's property rates, GDA vice chairman Santosh Yadav told reporters here.
As Wajirabad Border-Bhopra Chowk stretch witnesses traffic snarls in peak hours every day, the GDA has decided to widen this stretch by cementing open drains, he said.
Beatification and maintenance of city parks would be carried out at a cost of Rs 2 crore, Yadav said.
GDA has also set aside Rs 2 crore for putting signage boards on roads, beautification of parks of footpaths and repairing of road dividers, he said.
The authority has decided to develop city bus shelters on PPP model by providing operators with some space on shelters for advertisement, he said, adding that operators will give some part of their earning to GDA.
GDA decided to shut down its city bus service, which was introduced last year, due to financial losses, Yadav said.
