Vehicular traffic on the road connecting Ambala with Hisar was disrupted for over an hour today as a large number of protesters marched from Agarsain Chowk to the Judicial Complex, seeking justice in the murder of a Chief Judicial Magistrate's wife in Gurgaon in July.
The body of Geetanjali, the wife of then Gurgaon Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravneet Garg, was found on July 17 under mysterious circumstances near the Gurgaon Police Lines. Garg who is at present posted here.
The protesters, led by Geetanjali's father Om Parkash Aggarwal, demanded immediate suspension of Garg and handed over a memorandum to District and Sessions judge H S Thakur and Deputy Commissioner K M Pandurang.
Traffic on Ambala-Hissar road remained out of gear for over an hour due to the protest and a large police contingent, which reached the spot soon after, later diverted the traffic to alternate routes.
Aggarwal alleged that even after four months of the killing of his daughter, "the accused was roaming free" though case under Section 302 (murder), 34 (common intension) was registered against Garg.
Geetanjali's relatives, Rajiv Bansal and Amit Jindal, alleged that "the investigation by CBI were moving at a snail's pace."
Aggarwal also demanded that the custody of his two granddaughters be given to him as "the future of the children was not secure with Garg's family".
