Analytics is the scientific process of transforming data into insight for making better decisions.
The agreement will help post-graduate students of economics and analytics, the emerging sector in high-end job market, as courses would be developed in tune with the industry, Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said.

"We are focusing at high end education like research and analytics. We are also trying to set up a centre of excellence aiming at producing a pool of skilled manpower," Chatterjee said.
Calcutta University vice-chancellor Suranjan Das said a major challenge for higher education in India today is to develop a strong interface between university and industry which will mutually benefit the both.
