"The board will deliberate on and discuss recommendations of all the 12 thematic committees of CGPB as well as State Geological Programming Boards (SGPBs) and finalise the Field Season Programme of GSI for 2017-18," the Ministry of Mines said in a statement.
GSI has drawn up close to 817 scientific programmes for deliberation and finalisation by the board, which includes nearly 198 under mineral exploration.
Last year, GSI implemented 803 programmes in all, which included 214 programmes under mineral exploration.
CGPB is an important platform for the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines, where the Annual Field Season Programme (FSP) is finalised.
The members of CGPB and other stakeholders such as state governments, central and state exploration agencies, PSUs and the like present their proposals for collaborative work with GSI.
