The 58-year-old businessman, who dated the "Faith" musician for 15 years, says he was not keeping well in the last few years of his life, reported Female First.
"I can't say for sure but I think his body just gave up. All these years, it was just weak," Goss says.
Michael was found dead at his Oxfordshire home on Christmas last year.
Goss adds the former lovers were on speaking terms with each other, "We were in constant contact. He was in good spirits."
