Getting the purple cap in the ongoing IPL has come as a huge morale-booster to Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Vinay Kumar, who feels it has increased his hunger for wickets.
"I am really happy about whatever I have done so far and will make sure I will continue to do so. I also will try to give my best and get more wickets for the team," he told reporters after the win over Rajasthan Royals here lats night.
Bowlers are giving a tough competition to each other in this year's IPL where the Purple Cap is changing hands quickly.
Vinay snatched the cap from leg-spinner Amit Mishra after he picked up three wickets for 18 runs against Rajasthan Royals last night.
However, his celebrations could be short-lived because wily West Indian spinner Sunil Narine and Mishra are not far behind with 11 wickets compared to Vinay's 12.
Vinay said Bangalore boasts of a good bowling attack and he was enjoying teaming up with with Ravi Rampaul, RP Singh and others.
Talking about the match against Rajasthan, Vinay said Chris Gayle once again gave Bangalore a clinical win.
"Gayle did well and made it sure he bats till the end. He did it in style, but in a style not of his kind," he said.
On Bangalore not conceding extras in the match, Vinay said the bowlers worked hard in the nets to plug the no balls, especially after RP Singh's no ball cost the team earlier.
"The hard work in the nets paid off," he said.
