The Ghaziabad district administration has denied permission to AIMIM for organising a meeting of the party in Dasna town on Sunday, citing potential law and order situation, a senior police official said today.
The meeting was to be chaired by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna said the party's district president Pravesh Pasha had applied for permission to convene a meeting of teh AIMIM in Dasna town.
Some Hindu and Muslim outfits were opposing the proposed meeting.
The permission for the meeting was rejected to avoid any untoward incident, maintain law and order, and communal harmony, the SSP said.
Another party worker told reporters that the proposed meeting was cancelled after the administration denied the permission.
