India's top squash player Saurav Ghosal flattered to deceive by losing to Englishman Daryl Selby in the opening round of the prestigious British Open here.
The World No.15 from Kolkata could not keep pace with his 10th-ranked opponent in the 65 minute battle, going down 11-7 8-11 5-11 6-11 at the Indoor Sports Arena last night. It was Ghosal's second loss against Selby in as many career meetings.
"I was not as accurate as I would have liked it to be. He (Selby) stepped up the court really well and was relentless, especially in the last two games," Ghosal told PTI today.
Asked about not capitalising on a good start, the 27-year-old added: "I did well in the first game. The second game was good too, only I lost my focus at the end of the it, that is something I have got to work on. Overall, I just didn't get the rhythm I wanted, so both my deep shots and short game were average."
Ghosal will return to action next month when he competes at the Asian Team Championships in Hong Kong.
