Lucknow Zoological garden due to respiratory failure, officials said today.
The giraffe, Anubhav, died yesterday and the post-mortem report revealed that he died due to cardiac respiratory failure, Zoo Director Aupam Gupta said.
Anubhav was born in 2000 at Alipore Zoo, Kolkata, and was brought to Lucknow and paired here with female Giraffe Sujata. The couple had three baby giraffes of whom one survived, he said.
The Lucknow Zoo will try to find another male giraffe to accompany Sujata, he added.
