Girl dies under mysterious circumstances

A 17-year-old girl died under mysterious circumstances at her residence in south Delhi's Sainik Farm area today and her family took her body for cremation to Agra without informing the police.
The girl, a class 12 student at a private school, lived with her family in a three-storey building in the posh south Delhi area, a police official said.
According to police, they were informed at around 7 AM by one of her neighbours, who claimed to have seen a pool of blood outside the building. After he further checked, he claimed to have found the girl's family missing from their house.

When a police team rushed to the spot, another neighbour claimed to have heard the girl and her father enter into a heated argument last night, said a senior official.
When the police called up the girl's family, they said the girl was dead and the family had left for Agra, their natve place, for her cremation.
Later, when the police questioned the girl's father, a businessman, he claimed that his daughter jumped from the balcony when he reprimanded her for allegedly sending a personal text message to a friend.
The girl's father also claimed that he rushed her to a doctor, who declared her dead, said the senior official.

The police, however, have not ruled out any possible angle in investigating the case, the official added.
