Girl, male friend molested, filmed in Maha; 5 held

A young girl was allegedly molested and assaulted along with her male friend by a group of men at a village in Maharashtra's Nanded district, who also made a video of the incident, police said.
Five of the accused were arrested today, they said.
The video shows a group of 12 men thrashing the girl and her friend. The clip was uploaded on mobile messaging platforms such as WhatsApp last night, Nanded police station inspector Satish Gaikwad said.
The incident took place on Friday at Ardhapur taluka, around 25 kms away from Nanded, when the accused started reprimanding the couple, indulging themselves in moral policing, the officer said.

Seven persons, who were part of the group, are at large after a complaint was lodged by the victim boy yesterday.
The five accused were produced before a local court today which remanded them in judicial custody till June 19, police added.
