The 28-year-old actress, who plays cheerleader Kitty in the comedy series, was accompanying nightclub owner Matt Bendik on a business trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when the tragedy happened, reported TMZ online.
The couple was spotted with friends on Wednesday night and returned to their hotel together.
Bendik's body was found by a maid on Thursday afternoon. He was 35.
It is unknown where Tobin was at the time.
The circumstances surrounding his death had not been revealed. Staff at the Philadelphia Medical Examiner confirmed that Bendik's body was found but did not reveal further details.
