Acting on a tip-off that the GNLA militants were camping in a jungle under Memamang hill, Meghalaya's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) commandos and CRPF's CoBRA stormed the camp last night, officials said today.
While approaching the camp, located in a dense jungle, the security forces came under heavy shelling by the militants from rocket propelled hand grenades.
The security forces were forced to retaliate, they said.
A CoBRA personnel of the CRPF was seriously injured in the firing.
This is one of the major camps of the outfit which is believed to be aided by Assam
