Congress MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar, summoned by the Goa anti-corruption bureau today in connection with a disproportionate assets case, did not turn up and sought more time.
Superintendent of Police (ACB) Bosco George told PTI that Kavlekar did not appear before the investigation officer and instead asked for a week's time.
"He has told us that the tickets for his outstation travel were already booked and he will be back only after a week, following which he would remain present," George said.
ACB has filed a case for possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of his income -- about Rs 5 crore -- against Kavlekar, a tribal leader, who headed state-run Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) for seven years through 2012.
Among other things, he had allegedly bought rubber plantations near Sabrimala in Kerala.
