Goa Government has begun the process of setting up the One Stop Crisis Centres (OSCC) near district hospitals in the state with the Central funding.
The OSCCs were conceived by the Union government following December 2012 gang rape case in Delhi.
"We want to set up these centres next to the district hospitals so that the medical help can also be provided at these centres. All the facilities would be provided at these centres," state Social Welfare Minister Dilip Parulekar told the Legislative Assembly.
He was responding to a cut motion moved by the opposition benches for demands of grants for social welfare department.
It had been proposed that OSCC should cater to all survivors of violence (domestic, caste based, sexual assault, acid attack, trafficking, dowry, rape etc).
