"The total rainfall this season is 28 inches. Yesterday was the wettest day of the season as six inches of rain was recorded," V K Mini, Goa Director of IMD told PTI.
The state had witnessed 80 per cent deficiency in pre-monsoon showers. Monsoon was delayed by a week and had hit the coastal state on June 19, she said.
The director said rains accompanied by thunderstorms are expected to continue for the next five days.
"The sea will be rough. Fishermen are advised not to go out in the sea during the next 24 hours," Mini said.
