Investor-friendly policies, lower cost of living and low crime rate in the state are among the aspects that will be highlighted during the 'Vibrant Goa Summit' scheduled to be held later this year, the Assembly was informed on Friday.
Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane told the House 'Vibrant Goa Global Expo And Summit 2019' is being organised by a public trust with support from the state government.
The meet will serve as a platform for Goan industries and business community to showcase their strengths, highlight business opportunities and facilitate knowledge dissemination.
The minister said aspects like investor-friendly policies, pro-active government and sectors in Goa with potential for investment will be highlighted during the three- day summit to be organised in October.
He said social aspects such as low crime rate, relatively lower cost of living as compared to Mumbai or Bengaluru and a congenial ecosystem for expats to work and settle in Goa will also be among attractions for investors.
The minister said direct access to big consumer markets of Maharashtra and Karnataka would also be an added advantage for those planning to invest in Goa.
He said tourism, pharmaceutical & biotech, integrated educational hubs, knowledge-based industry, research & development centres and financial services are among the sectors in Goa which have investment potential.
Other such sectors are aviation, aerospace and defence, agro-based and food processing industries, light engineering and IT hardware, Rane added.
