GoDaddy slashes website-making tool rates by up to 75 pc

Web services firm GoDaddy today slashed rates of its automatic website building software by up to 75 per cent to tap small and medium businesses in India.
"GoDaddy is committed in its focus to educate small business owners about the power of the internet and what it can do for their business.
"The new website builder tool that we are introducing at low price point will focus on website making from mobile phones," GoDaddy International Executive Vice President Andrew Low Ah Kee said here.
The website builder tool will be free for first month for all categories -- personal, business, business plus and online store.

Thereafter, the website builder tool for personal websites will cost Rs 99 per month instead of Rs 389.
Similarly, GoDaddy has cut monthly usage rate of website builder for business category to Rs 479 from Rs 639, for business plus to Rs 679 from Rs 999 and online store to Rs 999 from Rs 1,499.

The tool provides ready-made templates to make websites.
"There is no limit on storage but we will see that the storage is not misused by anyone," Andrew said.
"The new campaign picks on the insight of small business
owners using traditional means to promote their business. Often, these traditional ways of marketing are limited in the impact they make and that's what we showcase in the TV commercials.
