Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today assured state government employees that they will continue to get their salaries regularly.
Payment of regular salaries would continue as there was no dearth of funds in disbursing salaries, said a government release quoting Gogoi.
The Finance Department has completed all modalities to disburse the salaries of all employees irrespective of the nature of job before the Autumn Festival 'Durga Puja,' the release said.
Though the government has done away with the retention system, the release said for want of retention document, no employee would be deprived of his or her salaries.
However, the retention system was simplified for workers under master roll, work-charge and employees under Central Government sponsored schemes working on temporary mode.
In view of an order from the Accountant General, the Finance Department on September 11 had asked the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Commissioner-Secretaries, Secretaries and other Administrative Departments to make a data base of temporary employees and submit it with the office of the Accountant General.
In sync with the directive, Chief Minister Gogoi has directed the Finance Department to ensure all departments furnish their database with the Accountant General without fail, the release added.
