Gogoi directs DCs to speed up MNREGA work

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today directed Deputy Commissioners of those districts where implementation of MNREGA is tardy to speed up the flagship programme so that it reaches out to the beneficiaries.
Gogoi said that he would review the status of implementation of MNREGA in the districts lagging behind.
He asked the deputy commissioners to bring to his notice any problem relating to the implementation of the scheme, Chief Minister's Office said.
Gogoi also asked the DCs to accord priority in the implementation of Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) in their respective districts, the CMO said.
