"I appeal to all people in the state that if anybody has any genuine evidence or proof against any government functionary's unethical practice, the matter should be brought to the higher authorities and the government will take action against the erring official," Gogoi said in a statement here.
Assam government encourages transparency and honesty in governance and government departments, the chief minister said.
If any department or any government functionary's action contravenes transparency and honesty or if any government official indulges in any ill-practice, people should complain with sufficient evidence or proof and the government will definitely act on that, Gogoi added.
