Gogoi seeks blessings of Durga for lasting peace in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today hoped, with the blessings of Goddess Durga,there will be lasting peace, progress and prosperity in the state.
Gogoi hoped that the blessings of Goddess Durga would help the state to tide over the crisis in the wake of the devastating floods.
The Chief Minister said this while addressing a congregation at the 'Panjabari Sarbajanin Puja' mandap here where he, accompanied by his wife Dolly Gogoi, paid obeisance to Goddess Durga
"Floods this year have claimed several lives and rendered tens of thousands of people homeless. May Goddess Durga give them the strength and fortitude to overcome the situation. I hope, with the blessings of Goddess Durga, there will be new hope dawning in the lives of the affected people," he said.

The CM also invoked the blessings of the Goddess to serve the people of the state with renewed zeal and vigour in the days ahead.
Lauding the organisers for putting up the puja in a traditional way without grandiosity, Gogoi said, "I like the way puja is being organised here in a solemn manner without pomposity and that too in a green environ with people from different communities assembling to pray for their well-being and for overall peace and prosperity.
