Gold worth about Rs 25 lakh seized

One kg of gold worth Rs 25 lakh was seized by customs officials and two persons were arrested in this connection today.
Following a tip-off that some persons were trying to smuggle gold to Sri Lanka, officials conducted a checking in Dhanushkodi and arrested, Customs Superintendent Pugazhendi said.
He said two others managed to escape on seeing the customs officials.
