Gold worth Rs 1 crore and USD 10,000 have been seized from air passengers who arrived here from different countries, Customs department said on Friday.
The gold, totally weighing 2.6 kg, was recovered on Thursday from the nine people, all of them Indian citizens, who had arrived here from Colombo, Singapore and Dubai among other places, a Customs release said.
Some of the passengers had concealed the precious metal in the rectum, the release said.
Five refurbished laptops and 5,600 cigarettes have been confiscated from one of the nine, it said.
Further, USD 10,000 was seized from a passenger who had arrived from Colombo, it said.
