Gold worth Rs 28 lakh seized at Hyderabad airport
Press Trust of India Hyderabad Officers of DRI and Customs today seized 952 grams of gold, valued at Rs 27.9 lakh, from a passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
The passenger, who had arrived from Dubai by an Emirates flight, was intercepted following a tip-off, and was found to have concealed nine gold bars in specially designed pockets of his trousers, a senior Customs officer said.
He was detained and further investigation was underway.
