Government official commits suicide in UP

A 50-year-old employee of the state irrigation department today allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a multi-storey government building near Legislative Assembly here, police said.
Umesh jumped from the building and died on the spot, they said, adding, investigation in this connection is underway.
Asked about reports in a section of media that he jumped due to poor performance of Indian cricket team in the World Cup, police said that the reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
