West Bengal government would decide if suspended Trinamool Congress MP and Saradha scam accused Kunal Ghosh is required to be shifted from jail hospital only after going through his medical reports.
"Kunal Ghosh is undergoing treatment at the hospital inside the Correctional Home and today a team of doctors from the SSKM is examining him. Let them give their reports on Ghosh's health and then we will decide," West Bengal Minister of Correctional Administration Haider Aziz Safwi told PTI today.
"Lets us see what the doctors suggest. We will then decide whether Ghosh requires to be shifted somewhere else or not," he said on being enquired whether Ghosh would be shifted to a hospital if the doctors recommended it.
Asked whether Ghosh is reportedly not eating since one week protesting against alleged torture on him inside the Correctional Home, Safwi said he has no such information.
"I have no such information that Ghosh has complained of any torture inside the Correctional home. As far as I know he is eating on and off... But he is definitely not on hunger strike," he said.
Ghosh had a medical check-up done by SSKM doctors before he was shifted to the hospital in the Presidency Correctional Home yesterday.
The medical reports, however, did not reveal anything alarming, the minister had said yesterday.
Last month, Ghosh, who was the CEO of Saradha's media wing, had allegedly attempted suicide inside his cell by taking an overdose of sleeping pills.
Ghosh had threatened to end his life if the CBI failed to take action against others involved in the scam.
